A Treat for Breakfast

Today I have a recipe for you that you can add to your meal plan.  In the Hot Burning Body Quick Start Guide I provide you with many more healthy and tasty recipes like this one to keep your meals interesting – never boring.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but sometimes we can get really tired of the same old oatmeal with raisins or just good old simple scrambled eggs and even those lovely egg-white omelets you have learnt to make.

Here I have a little treat for you for that special Sunday morning breakfast.  This is a healthy and tasty way to start your day… once a week you are allowed a scrumptious treat… here is a healthy treat for you!  Healthy has never tasted so good!

Yummy Waffles for Breakfast

These Coffee-Chocolate Waffles are sweet and light, and full of good stuff — like fiber and monounsaturated fats. Plus, the yummy combo of espresso and cocoa powder is your delicious morning pick-me-up!

Chocolate-coffee Waffles (Makes 5 waffles)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups whole-grain pastry flour.

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup 1 percent milk

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

2 teaspoons espresso powder

3 tablespoons light olive oil

3 large egg whites

1/8 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips (optional) Maple syrup

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the milk, brown sugar, espresso powder, and oil. Whisk these ingredients together until blended.

Preheat a waffle iron for 4 minutes, or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. (A drop of water should sizzle and bounce when dropped onto the hot surface.)

Meanwhile, beat the egg whites and salt with an electric mixer at high speed just until they form soft peaks. Fold the whites into the chocolate batter a third at a time, folding in the chocolate chips with the last third of the whites. Fold just until the mixture is combined.

Spray the heated waffle iron with cooking oil right before using. Add enough batter to almost cover the waffle grids (3/4 cup) and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve the waffles with maple syrup.

Note: To keep the waffles warm, place them in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet in a preheated 250°F oven.

Per waffle: 235 calories, 10g fat, 29g carbohydrates, 10g protein, 5g fiber, 400mg sodium

So there you go – healthy doesn’t need to be tasteless and boring.

CoreForce Energy Review

It is no surprise that a program like Garin Bader’s CoreForce Energy creates skepticism. He makes some pretty incredible promises that seem impossible… I was very skeptical myself and could not see how it would be possible to create such amazing results in such a short amount of time. Many of you might be aware of the fact that I am Garin’s wife and therefor you might think that I am being bias. If you can get yourself to be open minded and if you can throw yourself into it and follow his instructions, you might even surprise yourself… no, you will definitely surprise yourself.

Garin shows us with the techniques and principals of CoreForce Energy that we really do under estimate ourselves and that when you put your “mind, imagination and congruence of body and mind” to work you really can achieve some incredible physical feats without too much effort.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who want to improve their life in any and every way possible – given you have an open mind and the will to experiment, play and learn… you will be surprised in how quickly he can show you to achieve whatever it is your goal might be. Succeed with a Healthy Self-Image

Your Self-image has everything to do with being successful in your fitness and weight- loss program… and everything else in life for that matter.

I need you to ask yourself this one question.

How do I see myself?

Do you see yourself as someone who has never succeeded in reaching your weight loss goals? Do you even think that you have what it takes to succeed?  How much faith do you have in your own ability to get where you want to go? Do you even believe that you can reach your goals?

Do you see yourself as a person who has the will power to try but then you fall off the wagon every time you walk into a convenience store or you have lunch with some friends?

Is this the way you see yourself?

If this is how you see yourself, if your view of yourself is similar to what I just described, then you drastically need to change your self-image – the way you think of yourself – The way you see yourself.

You need to go ahead and say to yourself: “I am a person who is a disciplined eater who eats for fat burning and mental energy. I eat to fuel my workouts and my healthy lifestyle.  I do treat myself every once in a while with a pre-planned treat and that is totally OK.

So every time you are tempted to eat something that will sabotage your goals then you say to yourself – “I am healthy and I am disciplined and I eat for mental and physical fuel, what I am about to eat does not fit that picture.”

So it does not matter if you walked into the store, actually bought the chocolate or junk food and even took off the wrapper… the only thing that actually matters is that you stop yourself before you ingest the junk food and say to yourself:

I have done all this hard work until now, why sabotage all that I have done?  I am the type of person that has control over my cravings and I eat only the foods that compliment my fat burning program and my healthy lifestyle – and every now and then I allow myself a pre-planned treat as a reward.

See, this way you are painting the right picture.

The more you do this and succeed in doing this, the easier it will become and the more this picture of yourself will become your true self-image. Because every time you succeed, your faith in yourself and your own abilities will improve.

Like anything this might require a little practice but it is imperative that you truly believe in your self and your new self-image.

Also, next time you look in the mirror… don’t criticize what you see – in stead, see your true potential. Look for all the positive things and concentrate on those – this will also help improve your self-Image.  It is very important to concentrate on the positive things about yourself.

So start today, and change that negative image you have of yourself in to a positive self-image.

It’s all about taking the first step!

I just got back home from a trip to Seattle this weekend where I attended an amazing seminar and also did one kick-butt Kettlebell workout.  Later this week I want to share more about that workout with you, but for now I want to share something else with you…

Sure I can give you all the tools you need for successful weight loss… but if you are not willing to implement any of it well then it is pretty much useless.

What am I getting at here?

You can’t achieve success if you are not willing to take the first step.  The hardest part about losing weight is getting started and then after that it is all about staying motivated.

If you want something bad enough you will take action and get off your butt and get started.  If you can simply do that then you have already won half the battle.

For me… the rest of that inner drive comes firstly from seeing the results. Once you have lost those first couple of pounds then you are hungry for more and that can be a great motivator to get you to the gym.

Once you have managed to get into a workout routine and you got your body into healthy eating habits, you will immediately recognize how good you feel.

Suddenly you have more energy and your whole body feels more vibrant and less bloated.  Your pants fit looser and you feel confident and radiant.

Why would you possibly want to stop feeling that way?  I can tell you now, if you can only get started and experience the sensation of feeling healthy and energetic, then it will be so much easier to keep on going.
